Privacy

Magic 8 Ball works without an account. Preferences, collection progress and optional question history are kept in browser or app storage rather than sent to Magic8Ball.tech.

Recent question history on the website

Three-day history is on by default for new visitors to the website homepage. When it is enabled, up to 30 completed question-and-answer pairs are stored in that browser. Records older than 72 hours are removed when the homepage is next opened or another answer is saved. Private browsing may remove them sooner. Empty or rejected questions are never added. The app-only /app interface does not display this table.

Website analytics

The public homepage loads Google Analytics automatically to measure page views, sessions, browser and device details, approximate region and referral sources. Magic8Ball.tech does not send your questions or answers to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, user-data signals and ad-personalization signals remain disabled, and analytics does not load on the app-only /app route or the legal pages. Voice input

Microphone access is requested only after you tap the voice button. Speech recognition is provided by your browser or Android speech-recognition service, so audio handling can depend on the service configured on your device. Magic 8 Ball receives the resulting transcript and treats it like typed text.

Device features

The app can use motion sensors to detect a shake, vibration for haptic feedback, and system text-to-speech for spoken readback. These features can be disabled in Settings.

Advertising

Advertising is disabled in the current release. Before advertising is enabled, the app will add a verified consent flow where legally required and this notice will be updated with the provider, data purposes and controls.

Data choices

The Save answers switch stops or resumes new website history rows. Turning it off does not erase existing rows; they remain until the three-day cleanup. You can deny microphone permission or clear all app/site data through your browser or device. Magic 8 Ball does not request location or contacts.

Safety

The ball is entertainment, not factual prediction or professional advice. Sensitive health, safety, legal and financial prompts are redirected away from random answers.
